Corry Memorial Hospital is expanding, with the addition of a medical arts building.A ceremonial ground breaking today marked the beginning of the $3.2 million project.The 10,000 square foot building will be constructed right next to the hospital.Work will start next week.The complex is expected to open in June 2019.It will have 7 physician offices and 22 examination and treatment rooms. Hospital leaders say the location will improve access and convenience for patients.Corry Memorial Hospital President Barbara Nichols said, "Now they will be able to be right attached to the facility. So the doctor orders something, they can walk right into the hospital and have it done. So it will be more convenient, more efficient, and better all around.The state of Pennsylvania contributed $1 million toward the project to boost rural health care in our region.The hospital is an affiliate of LECOM Health.
