East High School, completed in 1999,
was a newly constructed building that houses 1137 students
within 206,000 square feet. This communications/arts
'magnet' High School replaced an existing 1902 facility.
A state-of-the-art educational facility, East High is
organized into three 2-story pods or houses with each being
supported by conference rooms, teacher planning centers,
guidance and restrooms.
The program also included a 25-yard, 6 lane regulation
therapy competition swimming pool with a timing system for
school and community use.
Other recreation areas included a 1,200 seat multi-use
gymnasium, 500 seat auditorium, wrestling training room,
strength training area, equipment storage rooms, and
associated locker/ shower/ toilet facilities.
The project was completed on time and below the
District’s budget.
